International stars of synchronised swimming are to compete in Torrevieja

The national teams of Great Britain, France, Slovakia, Colombia, Mexico and Spain will present routines at the International Open, which is being held alongside the Spanish Championship

The events run from the 21st to the 23rd of June at the ‘Infanta Cristina’ Palacio de los Deportes sports centre. It is organised by Torrevieja town hall, the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation and the provincial tourism board.

The International Open is a significant competition and the teams’ last chance to compete before the World Championships in Barcelona from July 19, for which they will be presenting their routines.

Spanish Swimming Federation President Fernando Carpena said it is an attractive competition for the media and lovers of the sport.

The best Spanish clubs will compete for medals in five disciplines, technical duet, free duet, technical team, free team and combined; and the club with the highest points wins a trophy. The participating clubs are Granollers, Kallipolis, Las Palmas, Canoe, Retiro y Sincro Sevilla.

The two competitions will be held simultaneously in five sessions over the three days, starting at 10am on June 21st with the duet and team technical routines.

Entry to all the sessions is free of charge.
