Activities for all ages to enjoy the wildlife in the great outdoors
The Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja Natural Park has organised various activities as part of the Valencian Government Environment Department’s ‘Pascua als Parcs’ (Easter in the Parks) project.
Firstly there is a recycling workshop for the whole family, at which participants can make their own birdbath out of household materials. This activity is on Tuesday, April 15th in the park Information Centre from 11am-12:30pm.
Next up is an entymological exhibition in the Information Centre, which contains displays and facts about the park’s smallest inhabitants, its insects. This is free to enter and open from April 18th– 21st between 9:30am and 1pm.
A guided ornithology tour on Wednesday, April 16th will show off the extensive variety of bird life in the park. It leaves from the Information Centre at 11am and will return there at 12:30.
The following day, there is a workshop about orienteering for the whole family, at which from 11am-12:30pm you can learn how to find your way around and not get lost in the park, with the help of a compass.
There is also a talk about the common shelduck, a species that, despite its name, is listed as vulnerable in the ‘Libro rojo de las aves de España’ (Red book of birds in Spain). This is also at the Information Centre, on Thursday, April 24th, also from 11am-12:30pm.
Finally, and especially for children, on April 25th, there is a handicraft class at which they can colour in and cut out pictures of the different birds that live in the park, again from 11am-12:30pm, at the Information Centre.
Prior registration is required for the activities and to sign up, send an email to email@example.com or phone 96 692 0404.
